On The Same Page: Tips for Office Teamwork

Teamwork is essential for the success and longevity of any business. However when employees are unclear about tasks, or don’t know who is responsible for what, then uncertainty and confusion can ensue.  Ensuring that your staff is on the same page will help your organization to establish common goals and to reach them more efficiently. Below are some helpful tips on how to keep everyone on the same page:

Regular Communication: Send out memos regularly when to keep the office updated on schedules, progress and deadlines. Memos are an effective communication method that will keep the whole office informed.  You can also stay in touch with your coworkers by scheduling regular meetings. Meetings are a great time to establish think tanks, and to get input from everyone else in the office. Meetings can also include group discussion and brainstorming which can spark new ideas and creativity.

Cloud Technology: Cloud Technology centralizes all of your documents into one digital location. Any authorized employee can access documents in the cloud from any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. With the Cloud you will eliminate the risk of lost documents along with any further confusion. Cloud Technology also allows for multiple employees to collaborate on a project, which will foster teamwork and creativity. Cloud Technology will help to yield greater efficiency among coworkers.

Establish Clear Directions and Goals: When assigning tasks, it is crucial to designate which employees are assigned to which tasks . When you assign a task to an employee, you are also holding them accountable for the completion and content of the given task. Be sure your employees know this. Also, be specific and thorough about what you need to have done. Confusion can occur when an employee is uncertain about a task they are assigned.

Staff Newsletters: You don’t have to send these as frequently as memos, but they can still be helpful. Newsletters can be sent out weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This is another opportunity to keep the office  informed of tasks and progress. This is also a perfect moment to let your employees know of all the progress they have made.
