Stop Your Bad Day, Start Being Productive


Everyone has those days where you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and your day just seems to continuously get worse and you get nothing done at all. Needless to say, the way you start your morning impacts how productive you are for the rest of the day. Wake up feeling rushed and scrambled-chances are your day will keep going like that and destroy your productivity for the rest of the day.

In these cases, there are several ways to remedy the day before you lose control of everything.

Go for a walk. Walking can completely change your mood and put you back on the right track towards being super productive. If you work remotely, once a week try and go to a new location and get work done, a coffee shop, the park or any other space that allows for you to get you work done.

Relax. Just take a few minutes to just clear your head and breathe (this can be difficult when your feeling especially rushed). Taking a few minutes to breathe can completely change your state of mind and put you in a much better place. Inhale and count to three, then exhale and count to three. You’ll feel so much better!

Go over your to-do list. Find small tasks and get them done. The more you do, the better you will feel and you will gradually get to the bigger items. Doing this will put your mind at ease and you’ll be much more productive without really trying.  I’ve also heard that if you set a timer when you feel like your in a rut, you will that you push yourself without even trying. So while going through your to-do list, set a 20 minute timer and see what you can cross off your list!
